DR. PARYS PIANO STUDIO
Welcome to my Piano Studio!
With over 30 years of piano experience, I’ve had the privilege of performing in numerous concerts worldwide and collaborating with a variety of talented artists. My education spans both Europe and America, providing me with a rich and diverse musical foundation. My teaching approach aims to help students excel, unlock their full potential, and prepare confidently for competitions and performances.

Teaching Philosophy
I love teaching—or perhaps I should say I love guiding students through the realms of music, helping them explore uncharted territories. Teaching students from various backgrounds, each with their own abilities, skills, and learning styles, is a deeply rewarding experience.
My approach encourages students to think critically and work toward developing their own musical intentions. This journey toward becoming mature musicians involves fostering self-expression, problem-solving, and technical mastery.
I focus on identifying musical and technical challenges that need solutions while presenting realistic goals. This approach reduces frustration and encourages natural progression. Recognizing that each student learns differently, I incorporate a variety of pedagogical techniques. My method integrates four fundamental modes of learning: aural, visual, tactile, and metaphysical.
-
Aural: Active listening and absorbing musical demonstrations.
-
Visual: Accurately interpreting the score and incorporating interpretive and technical markings.
-
Tactile: Developing physical sensitivity and ease of movement for relaxed, effortless performance.
-
Metaphysical: Drawing on imagery and conceptual ideas to deepen emotional connection and artistic interpretation.
Each lesson follows a structured plan. It begins with technical exercises such as scales, arpeggios, cadences, and patterns, followed by the assigned repertoire. Lessons conclude with a review of previously studied pieces, focusing on technique, musicality, improvement, and memorization. I provide detailed prescriptions for time management and weekly practice routines, fostering consistency and discipline.
When working on repertoire, I encourage students to take an active role in shaping their interpretation. We begin by discussing the piece's form, historical context, and major musical ideas. Together, we identify solutions to specific challenges. I often ask questions to understand the student’s thought process, guiding them toward an informed and convincing interpretation.
Performance from memory is a key expectation for each subsequent lesson, ensuring that students consistently expand their repertoire. This aspect is especially crucial for those pursuing a professional career in music.
My feedback process emphasizes constructive, actionable guidance tailored to each student’s needs. I strive to create an encouraging atmosphere where students feel empowered to take risks and learn from their mistakes. During lessons, I highlight their achievements to build confidence while addressing areas for improvement with clear, specific strategies. This approach fosters a balanced perspective—acknowledging progress while maintaining focus on growth. By framing challenges as opportunities and celebrating small victories, I help students develop resilience and a positive attitude toward both practice and performance.
I strive to inspire students to become independent, self-motivated musicians who have the skills and knowledge to keep learning, teaching, and growing. After each lesson, students leave with clear goals, key ideas, and practical tools to help them practice effectively.
To me, teaching is not just about giving instructions; it’s about sparking curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love for music.
